potent storm system afternoon

A potent storm system approaches from the west today...bringing an increased chance of showers and thunderstorms and a potential for large hail and damaging winds. Strong to severe thunderstorms will form mainly over the Edwards Plateau this afternoon...with scattered showers and isolated strong thunderstorms expected over the rest of South Central Texas. The threat for severe weather and heavy downpours will increase this evening as a cold front approaches the area. Breezy south to southeast winds are expected ahead of the approaching storm system, with gusts to 35 mph possible.
